We woke up in the morning sweating. Apparently there was a power outage on Koh Samui which is common?!?! Our aircon was off. Boo. Yes, I know, we are classy backpackers who demand aircon. We headed to Khosan house for breakfast, I had scrambled eggs on toast, Thai people know how to make good eggs :) We were all feeling a little rough but ready to brave the beach!
We headed down to the spot from last night at Ark bar where all the little tables from the night previous had transformed into a sun bathers paradise - sun loungers, beside the bar/restaurant, free WIFI, and the DJ starts at 11am and pumps out the tunes all day! Chaweng Beach is gorgeous! Where we were sitting there was no stones, rocks or seaweed, just clear water!
As you lay around on the beach, LOTS of Thai people try to sell you things like bracelets, bikinis, icecream, street food, hats etc. Eimear made LOTS of friends, haha! We bartered for bracelets and bikinis! It was an unreal day, sun beating down.
Across from the Coconut House is a Mexican Restaurant called Gringos Cantina, we headed there for food, a little more expensive, like €5 more, ha! The food was amazing, I love my Mexican food. Chicken Fajitas YES!
We then headed down the road to barter at some market stalls and then all got massages for 150 Baht each - Aine & Tara had foot massages, Anna & Liv had back massages and myself and Eimear go THAI massages, they pummelled the shite out of us! Myself and Eimear got stretched & bent & punched & kneaded & stood on & cracked.... it was hilarious!!!
Feeling rather loose and light headed after our massages, we headed for Ark Bar for a drink, which turned to several and another good night :)
